From the wide valley below the village of Riva di Tures (Rein in Taufers) at 1,595 metres, follow Trail No. 1 through the forest: it’s a moderately steep path for most of the way, heading towards the southeast, up to the tree line. Further up, you'll see the Rifugio Roma (Kasseler Hütte) mountain hut (2,247 m; about 2.5 hours from Riva di Tures). The hut offers overnight accommodations if needed. From the, hut follow Trail No. 8, which is almost flat and called the Arthur Hartdegen Weg, first over ground moraines, and then around Riesernock Mountain until you reach a fork in the path (2,380 m). Bear right, continuing on Trail No. 8 to Ursprungbach Stream. You'll finally reach the summit via a long climb up the southern and western slopes of the mountain (about 3 to 3.5 hours from the hut). Descent: On the return either follow the same way back or choose the more direct path to the lower valley descending straight through Ursprungtal Valley.
