Unique rocky summit in the Val Badia


Day 1 – From the rifugio Pederü to Alpe di Pices Fanes (Kleinfanes Almen)

From Longega in the lower Val Badia we will walk along the left side of the Valley of Mareo-Marebbe, passing San Vigilio, to the car park in Pederü (1,545 m). The route takes you directly to the Alpe di Pices Fanes (2,040 m, 2 hours; you can also reach it by jeep. RifugioÜtia de Fanes and Rifugio Ütia de Lavarela).

Day 2 – From Alpe di Pices Fanes (Kleinfanes Almen) to the summit of Sasso delle Dieci (Zehner) and descent

We will take route 12; turn right at the intersection following route 7, which takes us to the Col dla Crusc (2,609 m; two hours from Fanes. You can get here also from the other side by taking the ski lift in Pedraces, 1,850 m). We will turn right to follow the signposted footpath, which goes up the ridge to Sas dla Crusc (Piz dl Ciaval, 2,907 m). The peak, which can be reached in just a few minutes, offers magnificent views. From there the footpath continues all the way to the final summit. A short, vertical via ferrata, which is rather exposed but equipped with secured ropes, takes you to the summit (3,026 m; two hours from the col). Return via the same route.

The Col of Crusc can also be reached from the other side, taking the ski lift from Pedraces, and from Santa Crusc on a long but well-equipped track.
