Viewpoints in the Alpes-Maritimes

In the extension of the famous Promenade des Anglais, the Quai des États-Unis stretches all the way to the port, between Old Nice and its narrow streets, the castle hill and the Mediterranean.

The iconic Promenade des Anglais is a real jewel in Nice, known across the world. The people of Nice and holidaymakers use it for a walk, exercise or a simple moment of escape, looking out to sea.

Located at the foot of the Château, between the Vieux Nice and Quai des États-Unis, Rue des Ponchettes is a place laden with history which today combines local culture and gastronomy.

An exceptional viewpoint with a 180° view of the mountainous landscape!  

From this point at the foot of Mount Boron, the view embraces the Bay of Angels and reaches as far as Cap d'Antibes to the west and the mountains to the north with the well-known shape of the baou de Saint-Jeannet: a grandiose and hypnotic view of Nice whose name is said to come from the Ligurian radical niss (height, summit) and nissa (point of water) which gave Nikaïa.

An unobstructed view of the olive groves, the Var valley and the valleys! The name Castagniers comes from the Latin word Castanea which means chestnut tree. Indeed, the early settlement was supplied with water by a spring that flowed near a chestnut tree under which the merchants used to sit.
