    2516 m
Easy access, relatively short descent and secured at the beginning. The short passages that are not secured are to be walked on the ferrata instead, especially on the west side of the climb because snow can still cause troubles at the beginning of the walking season.

Access to the ferrata:
from Paolina haven (open from June to mid-October) go towards the monument in Christomannos along path n.539 and carry on until the Roda di Vael haven. There are clear indications near the haven to reach the Masarè ferrata; there are also signs at the next crossroads (Via ferrata Masarè).

Good physical fitness, strong arms and a steady foot are all required for the ups and downs of the rock-climbing near the summit on the vertical rocks as there are no supports or aids.

Technical details:
A complex climb, partly exposed, that twists and turns around the Masarè summit. The ferrata is completely secured with steel cables along with some stretches of normal path; the steepest paths are made easier with artificial supports.

Type of the path:
90% steel cables, 10% path.

Complete gradient of the climb:
595 m, 3-3:30 hours.

Gradient to the beginning of the ferrata:
460 m, 1:45 hours.

Gradient of the ferrata:
about a 120 metre-climb and 60 metre-descent: 1:30-2:00 hours.

At the end of the ferrata, go back up along the grassy slope in the direction of Torre Finestra. Directly along the rocky sides, follow the sign to Roda di Vael/Rotwandhütte haven (steel cables and steps). From there, walk in the opposite direction of the access path and return to the Paolina haven. 1:15 hours for the entire descent.

Instead of descending in function with Torre Finestra, you can extend the hike by aiming for the summit of the Roda di Vael/Rotwand. Walk through an exposed stretch above Torre Finestra, arrive in a valley then follow the access route towards Roda di Vael. Along the valley, there is a sign-posted ferrata which is partially secured and will take you to the Roda di Val haven at the summit. From here walk down the northern side, which is also secured, until the passo Vajolon, and then turn towards the Paolina haven. From Torre Finestra to Paolina haven: 3:00-3:30 hours.

Starting point

Paolina haven, 2,125 m. Go up in the cable-car; summer openings: from 26.05 to 16.10, from 8 AM to 12:15 PM and from 1:30 PM to 6 PM (sometimes 5.30 PM). More information on
