This walk around the lakes of the Piné Plateau is a relaxing one with a very moderate difference in height. As a shorter alternative, you can choose to walk around just one of the two lakes.

Suitable for everyone and also ideal for families with children.

The route develops on the shores of the two major lakes of the plateau, the Serraia lake and the Piazze lake, and crosses the “Paludi di Sternigo” nature reserve. It is a must for visitors in all seasons. In winter the Serraia lake freezes completely, creating a natural mirror of great charm. Along the lakefront there are bars and restaurants for tasty stops.

Author’s recommendation

The perfect time for this walk is the early afternoon, when the light conditions are optimal.

Turn-by-turn directions

We suggest you to start from the southern tip of Lake Serraia just outside Baselga: follow the walking and cycling path along the western shore of the lake, go on through the 'Paludi di Sternigo' nature reserve and along the eastern shore of Lake Piazze up to a place called 'Fabbrica' (Hotel Pineta). From there, head back to Baselga by following the footpath along the northern shore of Lake Piazze. At the dam, take a small road on the left which takes you back to the walking and cycling path you followed on your way there. When you reach a riding stable ('Dallapiccola Farm') located just before locality 'Paludi', keep left again and follow the walking and cycling path along the eastern shore of Lake Serraia to get back to the starting point.
