Short but worthwhile and variety-rich tour. The route can also be done on nice and snow-free winter days.
Access The Pursteinwand is located above the parish of Taufers. On a good path you can get to the starting point of the tour just above the company building Wohnzentrum Jungmann. Characteristics Interesting ascension that offers everything a true alpinists looks for, although being very short. The upper part is very exposed but still exhausting. The access to the last ladder is overhanging and you have to be careful for loose rocks. Difficulty The upper part is steep and exposed and requires good arm strength. The lower part mostly consists of slabs you walk on with small steps. At the sign that warns from falling rocks you leave the path to continue via the debris to reach the access point. Technical details The via ferrata itself is not very long, neither is the access. It is therefore suitable to be done in the early summer, late autumn or sunny and snow-free winter days.
