On the Ifingersteig

The tour takes us across the sun-drenched high plateau of Merano 2000, which is popular with outdoor sports enthusiasts of all kinds in summer and winter. We climb Merano's local mountain, the imposing Ifinger, via a short but interesting via ferrata that should not be underestimated, especially by those new to the mountains. The Ifinger is very popular as a touring destination and is well visited in good weather, but many only go as far as the summit of the Kleiner Ifinger and skip the via ferrata to its "big brother". In both cases, the same applies: those who reach the top can look forward to breathtaking panoramic views in all directions, which are certainly worth one or two souvenir photos. On the way back, don't miss the stop at the Kuhleitenhütte or the Waidmannalm with its distant views and good South Tyrolean cuisine.
