The 3rd section of the Way of St. James connects Bruneck with Niedervintl.

This stage of the Way of St. James starts in Bruneck in Oberragen. Follow the promenade along the Rienz river to the Stegener Brücke bridge and via St. Nikolaus Stra;e through the district of Stegen to the main road into the Ahrntal valley. Follow the road out of the valley for a short distance and then turn right onto path no. 8 in the direction of Fassing. Later turn left onto path no. 5 and shortly afterwards follow the Arch. Follow the Arch. hiking trail to Sonnenburg. Continue on trail 6 on the sunny side über the valley floor, then 8A to the craftsmen's zone at Ehrenburg. Go up over the bridge by the state road to Ehrenburg. Pass below the castle and take the so-called Römerweg to Kiens. Over the bridge and on path 2 between Rienz and Pustertaler Strasse to Gisser. Head north in an arc to the parish church of St. Sigmund. Descend to the southern Rienzufer and so you reach the Pustertal cycle route to Niedervintl. Halfway along the trail, turn right onto path 8,14A and continue
