South Tyrolean Milk Trail

From the car park, follow the signs to the Fane-Alm. Follow the tarred road for a short distance, then cross the stream at the Kurzkofelhütte. This is where the Milchsteig begins (information board). At first, take a leisurely route along a farm track and then gradually steeper through sparse larch forests and past the deep gorge of the Valler Bach stream to the car park just before the Fane-Alm. The Milchsteig ends there, but a visit to the alpine village is a must! The way back is via the outward route. Along the Milchsteig, which brings the hiker closer to the world of South Tyrolean dairy farming, extremely interesting facts, most of which are unknown to non-farmers, are presented on information boards.
