Sesto Valley Circular Trail
Around Sesto, an educational hike in Alta Pusteria.
From the car park at the valley station of the Rotwandwiesen gondola lift, the trail can be started either in a westerly or easterly direction. The Sesto circular trail is well signposted, the first signposts in the chosen direction can already be found at the car park or opposite the main road. Both the eastern and western loops end in Sesto, where you can either take the bus back to the starting point or combine the two loops to form a circular trail and hike back to the starting point. At several points along the trail it is possible to break off the hike (descend to the main road and take the bus back). The trail around Sesto, which consists of two parts, is an easy yet interesting hike. Along the first section, which runs along the eastern side of the valley, the hiker will find seven stations. There, the history of the valley, the Sesto sundial, legends, the “Spitzköfele”, fauna, the Sesto millstones and a water mill are presented. The south side focuses more on natural history:
