Schabziger High Trail

The newly created theme trail also brings a new wind to the Habergschwänd – Mullern – Fronalp hiking area. This is because the popular hiking trail has been completely redesigned and expanded into an exciting theme and adventure trail. Ten panels provide informative and easy-to-understand information about the history, production and marketing of Schabzigers. But there are also interesting facts in text and pictures about alpine and mountain farming in the Glarus region and about milk itself. At station 5 there is a mechanical stall-forming machine in a shelter (dating from 1910!), which originally formed stalls for many years in the «Zigerribi» Mollis. On the section of the trail between the former Alpenrösli and the Naturfreundehaus, every hiker can take part in a competition with an instant win and a chance to win a prize.
