It is dedicated to all Jewish refugees from Eastern Europe and to those who helped to escape. Destination

Kasern village (South Tyrol)

Turn-by-turn directions

From the first of the 7 Peace Pyramids, the hiking trail goes along the Krimmler Waterfalls, which, with a total drop of 380 meters, are among the fifth highest waterfalls in the world, up to an alpine path that leads to the second pyramid at the Krimmler Tauernhaus - the first documented mention in 1389. The Krimmler Tauernhaus has always been a port of call and rest stop for mule hauliers who transported their goods over the Krimmler Tauern to and from South Tyrol. Half an hour into the valley to the Ausserunlaß Alm, where the hiking trail branches off into the Windbachtal, a side valley of the Krimmler Achental. At first it is a little steeper uphill through a beautiful stone pine forest. In the area of the Windbachalm you finally get a good view of the trough valley shaped by the glacier. You hike to the head of the Windbachtal and further up to the Krimmler Tauern. Here you enter Italian territory. On the south side it goes continuously downhill. On the descent you have the opportunity to stop at the Untertauernalpe. When you finally arrive at the valley floor, you pass some alpine pastures again until you finally reach the village of Kasern.
