Il Sentiero dell’Acqua - The water path
This is one of the most interesting thematic routes on the Alpe Cimbra, dedicated to water and its use over time in the rural mountain economy. It can also be easily walked by families with children (+ 6 years). Not recommended in rainy weather, on slippery ground and in the event of torrent flooding.

The beauty of this route lies in the multiple suggestions it can arouse in the visitor, suggestions of an environmental, naturalistic and historical nature. It is therefore suitable for those who want to combine the pleasure of a long walk with the desire to learn about the relationship between the stream and man's economic activity, from fishing to the work of water mills and sawmills. Without diverting attention from the beauty of an environment dominated by the presence of the stream.

The section of the route that skirts the bed of the Astico torrent must absolutely be avoided in the event of flooding. As you will imagine, the practicability of itineraries in a mountain environment is closely linked to contingent conditions and therefore depends on natural phenomena, environmental changes and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this sheet may have changed. Before setting off, find out about the status of the route by contacting the manager of the huts on your route, mountain guides, nature park visitor centres and tourist offices.

Turn-by-turn directions
From the square in Carbonare (28 April), where you can park, we descend the path that leads into the woods and onto the Cogola road. We follow the dirt road that, passing through the Cogola locality, shortly arrives at Pont dei Mirandoi. Near the bridge, we join the path that touches the bed of the Astico torrent (absolutely to be avoided in the event of flooding) and ascend a stretch of the watercourse until we reach Pont de la Spèr. A little further on, on the left, we take the small dirt road that soon brings us back to the vicinity of the torrent. We cross it over a short, pretty wooden bridge and continue our walk. After a short walk we reach the Cùeli farmstead. The walk ends at the Cuel Mill, which can generally be visited on Saturdays and Sundays (see info).
