Wine Town Bressanone
The Valle Isarco is known as a place of origin for particularly fine white wines.

Anyone travelling through the Eisack Valley will notice the vineyards on the slopes high above the valley floor. Near Brixen, where the valley widens and the slopes become gentler, the sunny slopes around the hamlets of Tschötsch are planted close together with vines. The short Brixen wine trail leads through these vineyards. From Mahr, south of Bressanone, it goes up through the vineyards on unmarked farm tracks, past the old farmhouses to the hamlet of Tschötsch, and finally back down into the valley, always through vineyards. Those interested can take part in guided hikes in autumn including wine tasting, which adds to the educational value of the hike. To register, contact the Bressanone Tourist Board at www.brixen.org or call +39 0472 836401 .
