The demanding running course "Jöcherrunde" leads up to the Stone Men.
The most popular outlook points of the Mountain Pass Trail are the fabled Stoanernen Mandlen (Men of Stone) and Kreuzjoch. In order to complete the Mountain Pass Trail Tour at an assured pace, good physical fitness is a must. This unique circuit is the most challenging segment of the running Trails and it is recommanded only for advancer.
Author’s recommendation
From the Auenjoch the hiking path no. 4 leads to the amazing lookout point Kreuzjoch or the hiking path no. 23 leads to the fabled Stoanernen Mandlen (Men of Stone). This two are very popular vantage points.

Turn-by-turn directions
The Wurzer Alm Mountain Hut, at an elevation of 1,707 metres, is the starting point of the Mountain Pass Tour. The trail no. 2 leads over the Vöraner Joch pass (1,941m) to Auenjoch (1,924m). The Auenjoch is a starting point of many excursions. To get back follow the route no. 11 and 2A to the starting point.
Public transport
With the bus to the bus stop "Hafling Dorf", the way no. 2 or 2A leads up to the Wurzer Alm Mountain Hut (only on foot).

By road
CComing from both directions of the freeway Meran/Merano - Bolzano/Bozen (MEBO), take the exit of Meran Süd/Merano Sud and follow directions towards Meran first, to then turn right towards Hafling/Avelengo, follow the street until the parking lot in Hafling Dorf/Avelengo paese (below the parish church). The way no. 2 or 2A leads up to the Wurzer Alm Mountain Hut (only on foot).
