Short tour to Prissian Castle Village
Strolling along the Adige river, easy pedalling in the midst of South Tyrolean apple orchards or vigorous, sweaty climbing in the Tisner mountain range, this loop has a lot to offer despite its brevity. The highlight, in the truest sense of the word, is the high plateau at about 600m, with its villages of Tisens and Prissian. The latter is also known as the "castle village", as the surrounding area is dotted with numerous castles and castle ruins, which are picturesquely nestled amidst the vineyards. In addition, far-reaching views of the Adige valley are always opened up. As part of a multi-day stay, this loop is particularly suitable for the day of arrival to warm up or as an active rest day. Alternatively, those who want to do without the 300 m climb can also stay in the Etschtal valley. In Lana, simply follow the signs through the apple orchards to Nals.
