This excursion is unique between the big Ascent of Trentino thanks the amazing view, which offers. Ascending along the street SS del Menador, from Caldonazzo to the plateau of Luserna and Vézzena, there are wonderful and panoramic view to the two lakes and part of the valley Alta Valsugana.

The «Strada del Menador», one of the must panoramic in Trentino, is well known for being steep uphill (from 9% to 13%), a narrow street, built in the rock. The panorama from here is amazing; you can see the Alta Valsugana, the lakes of Levico and Caldonazzo. Built during the First World War from the Austro-Hungarian Army, called «Kaiserjägerweg» is a rapid road to the Alpe Cimbra. When you arrived on the Alpe, (8 km) on the area Monterovere, recommended is the last effort to pedal the passo Vezzena, where you can have a break at the Hotel Bar Vezzena!

Turn-by-turn directions

From the Corte Trapp of Caldonazzo follow the road signage to the Strada del Menador. After the ascent, reached the pass of Monterovere, you will reach the street SS349. Turn at the left and go ahead on the main street at the crossroad of Monterovere (here there is the street in direction Luserna). You will pass through an alpine area, until passo Vézzéna (Hotel Vézzena). Near the hotel, there is the Austro-Hungarian fortress of Busa Verle of the First World War.
