Challenging circuit over two serious passes, the Gampen and Mendel passes. In between, a ramp at Castelfondo gets in the way

After a short, flat rolling-in phase, this tour is almost exclusively uphill or downhill. Already in Lana, the long ascent to the Gampen Pass awaits us, which with its absolute height of 1512m does not seem to be in the same league as the big Alpine passes. But the difference of just under 1200m over a good 18km is quite respectable. Unfortunately, there are no magnificent views at the top of the pass, so we start our descent into the Val di Non. But at the latest with the climb up to Castelfondo, numerous mountain panoramas and valley views open up as we ride through small, quiet mountain villages surrounded by vineyards and orchards. After reaching the lowest point of the descent to the gorge of the Parco Fluviale Novella, the long climb to the Mendel Pass begins on the other side of the valley. Finally, steering skills are required on the winding descent of the Mendel Pass.
