06 - Pleasure tour through the Merano Basin to Lake Kaltern
An excursion from the lower Vinschgau Valley through the Merano Basin to Lake Kaltern with not too many metres in altitude. For South Tyrol, this is clearly a rather flat loop over a distance of more than 100 km. The maximum altitude is also kept within limits at around 500 m - good for a spring tour or training with low pulse values.
From the centre of Naturno ➊ take the Etsch cycle path and then follow the cycle path signs downstream. In Troll, cross the main road, downhill to Algund as far as the swimming pool ➋. Cross the Holzbr cke at the crossroads in the direction of Forst. There, cross the SS 38 ➌ and continue to Marling. Continue on the SP 5, later on SS 38 to Lana. At the roundabout ➍ below the Vigiljochbahn cable car, head towards the centre, then straight on at the next roundabout. After 250 m turn right and follow Kapuzinerstrasse ➎. Becomes SP 58, continue following through apple orchards towards Nals. At the roundabout on the road to Nals ➏ go straight and follow the main trail through the apple orchards, always below Nals. At the junction with the road to Andrian ➐, follow it to the left until Andrian. Continue straight on along the SP 14 to St. Pauls. After passing through the village ➑ take the cycle path back to SP 14. Head towards Kaltern, past the lake, and turn left onto the small road to
