With the mountain bike through the Rosengarten
The tour takes us over the Niger and Karer Passes through the Catinaccio. Enjoyable trails, some of them a little more demanding, and the panorama easily compensate for the effort of the ascent.

Distance 23.9 km
The long climb comes right at the beginning of the tour. We struggle up the initially steep path to the Niger Pass. The traverse over to the Karer Pass and the descent over the Karer Lake is all the more enjoyable for it, even if it is not always easy. Short sections with roots, blocked terrain and tight bends rarely disturb the trail flow. If we are also on the trail at the right time, we can enjoy a breathtaking alpine glow.
Author’s recommendation
The tour is particularly beautiful when we start at midday or in the afternoon. Then there is not so much going on on the passes and we can marvel at the Rose Garden glowing in the evening light.

Turn-by-turn directions
From the car park we drive briefly into the village and continue in the direction of the ski lift. At the end of Welschnofen, we turn onto a steep road up towards Jocher Hof. At a junction we follow the flatter ascending gravel path on which we finally reach the farm. On trail no. 4b, we go up a pleasant incline on gravel to the Niger Pass (1690 m). Via Alpengasthof Jolanda, we cycle on trail no. 1a in an alternation of trails and gravel paths over to the Karer Pass (1745 m). A somewhat more difficult trail section after the inn can alternatively be bypassed on the pass road. From the Karer Pass, we go downhill on gravel to the Karer Lake, where trail no. 10a begins at the car park. We follow this trail, which starts out very flowing and later becomes more demanding, to Welschnofen.
