On the second stage of our two-day tour, we pass the famous Sigmundskron Castle and can enjoy cooling off in Lake Kaltern.

We start our tour in Merano and then cycle along the apple cycle path towards Bolzano. Throughout the loop we see extensive orchards and vineyards and feel the typical South Tyrolean charm.
As we continue, we pass Sigmundskron Castle. The large castle complex is the centre of the "Messner Mountain Museums" of extreme mountaineer Reinhold Messner.
Then we cycle in the direction of Kalterer See. This is one of the largest and warmest bathing lakes in South Tyrol. After cooling off, we cycle to our second stage destination in Tramin.
From Neumarkt-Tramin station we then have the option of returning to our starting point in Mals by train via Bolzano and Merano.
