This itinerary offers a nice variety of riding features: a few short hike-a-bike sections are rewarded with a short single-track that leads to the Rifugio Rudi and a glorious downhill section on the sleigh track to the Croda Rossa cable car valley station. The rest of the ride follows forest roads and secondary roads with very little traffic. There is also an option of starting this route from Moso. It is recommended to ride this route clockwise.

The Passo Monte croce comelico is located at the end of the Val di Sesto and connects the Val Pusteria with the cadore. Already at our starting point the altitude offers a splendid view on the crinale carnico ridge on the border with Austria. the views give a crystal clear panorama of the Val Padòla in cadore and of the Sesto Dolomites. Itinerary description Depart from ➊ Passo Monte croce comelico (1636 m, payment required for parking); and follow the pass road for about 100 metres toward Sesto, at the crossroads ➋ take a left and then an immediate right, following waymark n. 18/ Prati di croda Rossa. After a few short hiking sections there is a big ➌ crossing, still keep to the left on forest road n. 18 and continue on to an iso- lated ➍ shepherd’s hut: leave this behind and – still on a steep climb – with a few short hiking sections, there is a fun, technical single-track which leads to the ➎ Rifugio Rudi (1914 m, food available).
