Awesome ride mostly on old WW1 Railway bed,  gravel most of the way and some asphalt all on bike path except into Cortina town center.

This is a must do if staying in the Pustertal. It is a delightful ride, partially on asphalt bike path and mostly on crushed gravel, remnants of an old railway from WW1. The path to Cortina and back is gentle, no significant elevation gain or loss, spectacular views and vistas. It is a good opportunity to see and experience the resort town of Cortina, and have a great meal on the way back at a gasthaus halfway along the route.

Author’s recommendation

Definitely stop at the Tre Cime view point, plenty of spots to stop and rest, great lunch spot about half way to Cortina. We had a refreshment and snacks in Cortina. If time stop off at the museum in Toblach.

Note: We did this with e-bikes so half the recommended time.
