Steady on the brakes.A downhill ride that's off the beaten track, some sections are very steep but are still rideable.

The centre of Bolzano is the start and finish point for this challenging mountain bike tour. The trail takes you to the Kohlerer gondola lift, where the thin road up to Bauerkohlern begins. Take the lift if you want to spare yourself the 820m climb on the tarmac road. Once you arrive at the top station of the gondola in Bauernkohlern, follow the road uphill to the first hairpin and then carry straight on along the forest path towards Herrenkohlern (marked as E5). Ride through the hamlet of Herrenkohlern and follow the E5 on a forest path with some steeper ascents to the Totes Moos nature reserve. Continue heading south for 1.3km on the forest path, then turn left, keeping to the E5, and onto a technical and demanding trail. At the end, the trail opens onto a road. Go right along it for 200m and then turn left to get back onto the trail. When you arrive back on the road, turn left to the Wölfhof and continue on the road in the direction of Deutschnofen.
