Behind the Catinaccio. If you ask local tourism operators, the Val di Fassa is definitely one of the top locations in terms of landscape. This is because it includes some of the most stunning peaks in the Dolomites: Marmolada, Catinaccio and the Monzoni Group. This is the only valley in Trentino where people still speak the ancient “ladin” language. It is understandable why large numbers of mountain bikers love riding their bikes in this incredibly beautiful setting season after season. A unique atmosphere indeed.
The Val di Vajolet is a place yet to be fully discovered. on the nar- row road to Gardeccia there is only place for one tourist shuttle bus. this is certainly an advantage for those mountain bikers who want to have a good climbing session. In the early hours of a summer morning getting to the refuge is one unforgettable experience. on a nice, clear morning with the sun rising in the background, the bright dolomitic rock cuts into the blue sky with such colourful intensity, it almost looks artificial. this is definitely a recurring image in this region.
