Panoramic trails high above Corvara
The tour impresses with a fantastic panorama and numerous partly easy, partly challenging trails. Thanks to cable car support, we only have to fight our way up short, albeit sometimes steep, climbs.

Distance 30.7 km
At the beginning, we ride comfortably up with the cable car, where beautiful, flowing trails await us. While the technical riding requirements are still low here, it becomes much more demanding after the second cable car ascent. Narrow trails with numerous tight bends require good technique and a certain amount of experience. In addition, sufficient consideration for hikers is important here. In addition to the varied trails, the tour shines above all with its stunning panorama.
Author’s recommendation
The tour should not be started too early, as after the second cable car ascent it runs along a narrow, very busy hiking trail with few alternative options.

Piz La Ila cable car valley station in Stern/La Villa
Turn-by-turn directions
Initially, we take the Piz La Ila cable car up to the mountain of the same name. Here we descend on a trail and continue slightly uphill on gravel paths towards the Pralongia hut. Below the hut we follow a gravel road past the La Marmotta hut (refreshment stop) down to the outskirts of Corvara. Go through the village in the direction of the Boè cable car. Shortly before the valley station of the cable car, we turn onto a gravel path in the direction of the Grödner Joch. On this path we finally reach the valley station of the Plans-Frara cable car, which takes us up to the Jimmy Hut. This is a good place to stop for a break. When the trails have emptied, we can get ready for the descent. We descend briefly on gravel, then on a flowing trail until we meet a gravel path. We follow this briefly in the direction of the Grödner Joch, but soon turn back onto a trail that leads us to trail no. 8. This is where the challenging part of our tour begins. Technically much harder than before, we descend on trail 8 until we reach a gravel road that leads steeply uphill to the Forceles Hut (refreshment stop). Now we do not go down to the Edelweiss Hut, but around the valley basin in the direction of Col Pradat. Shortly before we reach the Col Pradat hut, trail no. 4a branches off, which we follow down to Pescosta with many bends. Here the trail climbs slightly through the village. Via a last flowing trail we reach the main road to Stern/La Villa. A short stretch on the road in the direction of Corvara and then largely parallel to the river takes us back to Stern/La Villa and through the town to the valley station of the Piz La Ila cable car.
