Val Lorina is still unexplored territory for bikers, yet its location and configuration are an ideal starting point for any tour heading to Bocca Cablone, Bocca Campei, and Bocca Cocca. The trailhead of the Lorina Adventure is located between Passo d’Ampola (in Valle di Ledro) and the town of Storo, where a long gravel road leads you uphill to Bocca dei Giù, right above the pastures of Malga Alpo. Should you wish to ride through less busy roads, but still visit Val Lorina starting from Valle del Chiese, you may want to start from Bondone instead, a town located above Lago d’Idro.

Turn-by-turn directions
From the small parking lot in the town centre a narrow paved road leads you uphill to Malga Alpo, which is the perfect picnic spot in the summer months. Continuing uphill you will reach the beautiful mountain pasture of Bocca dei Giù, and its spectacular view on the surrounding areas. Turning right onto the old military road leading to Bocca di Cablone, the road crosses the border with Lombardy. Our tour, however, takes a left turn and continues downhill towards Val Lorina.
The gravel road leads you into the wood and all the way to Pra de Daù, where you will reach a small track. Inexperienced bikers may wish to dismount and pull their bikes for the next 200 metres, until they reach another gravel road. On the other side a gravel road leads you downhill to the paved road where you started off, eventually reaching the main road that stretches between Valle di Ledro and Valle del Chiese. Continuing downhill towards the town of Storo you will reach a junction, where you will take a left turn onto the cycle path leading to Lake Idro, crossing the town of Bondone and finally reaching a short uphill slope to the trailhead.
