Even in the Dolomites, there are only a few plateaus with a 360° view like this. At almost 2200m high, situated above Kassian and Corvara, the panoramic view from the Prolongià plateau encompasses the Marmolada, the Fanes group, the Sella and the Puez-Geisler group. No wonder that hikers and bikers come here in equal number.
The tour can also start in Corvara or St. Kassian (S. Cassiano). Ideally you should ride it clockwise. Bike tours and art do not normally go together. But this trail is an exception. It runs along the artists' path opened in 2011, called "Trù di artis?", which links Stern and St. Kassian. Local artists present their work, with a strong focus on the natural setting, all along the Gader river. The mountain guesthouse Pralongià is bike-friendly. There you can enjoy typical South Tyrolean dishes, which of course taste extra special accompanied by the picturesque views. Tour description Start below Stern in front of the Gadera power station ➊ 1390m, then ride on the Künstlerweg along the den Künstlerweg am St.-Kassianer stream towards St. Kassian/Armentarola until the lower station of the Piz Sorega cable car ➋ 1540m.
