The perfect end of a MTB tour

The route has a bit of everything that trailbikers love: steep passages, stream crossings, sharp turns, rooty and stony sections. The finish is the valley, from where you can ride back leisurely to Saalbach Hinterglemm or to the Ossmannalm Trail. If you go up from the top station of the Reiterkogelbahn, you have to overcome about 300 m  in height.

Author’s recommendation

Turn-by-turn directions

The best way of getting onto the Hochalm-Trail is by taking the Reiterkogelbahn lift for the first 500 vertical metres. Then, you ride past the Rosswaldhütte, up towards the Reichkendlkopf, and then on the gravel road along the ridge to the top station of the Spieleck 6er chair lift. Once you have this climb behind you, you are rewarded with a sheer endless downhill ride on a beautifully laid out trail through the picturesque scenery of the Pinzgau mountains.
