Great MTB itinerary between the Dolomites and Alta Val Pusteria

This itinerary has been made available by the Südtirol Dolomiti Superbike organising comittee. The short itinerary is 60 km long with a 1591 m incline (ascent). Starting in Villabassa towards the west, take the first ascent towards Mount Costa, that after 5 km of asphalt becomes a forestry road that through ascents and descents takes towards the San Silvestro valley. After a brief but technical descent we arrive in Silvestro square where we turn for Dobbiaco and the railway station. From there we take the road of the old railway for Cortina d’Ampezzo, passing by the Dobbiaco and Landro lakes then we face the last 7 km ascent towards Prato Piazza – the highest point of the tour situated at 2000 metres. The descent guides us towards the town of Braies and after a few km of asphalt we arrive back at the starting point in Villabassa.
