Paved roads and forest tracks of the Upper Val di Non lead past three typical mountain villages: Rumo, Proveis and Tregiovo. A small section of the trail must be walked to reach the Cloz mountain pasture on the slopes of the Cornicolo (with a beautiful view over the valley).

From Marcena, near Rumo, follow the provincial road eastwards and, after about 1 km, turn north to reach an asphalted secondary road (path no. 147). Continue up the asphalt road in the direction of Proves/Proveis and reach the village after passing a few farms. Cross the village and at the first bend turn downhill towards the north to reach the Matzlaun-Pergheri farms, from where the trail continues as a mule track. Later, the path (no. 7) widens again and leads to the pasture of the Cloz-Alm. Near the pasture you first have to cross a few fences, which serve to keep the cattle back. From the alpine pasture (Stärkung), the forest road leads downwards and you reach the provincial road towards Proveis. At the second bend (just after the bridge over the river) turn left onto a forest road. At the first junction, turn south-east to reach the Forcella di Brez/Brezner Joch. A long and mainly flat forest road descends to the pass, where it crosses the provincial road that goes up from Laurein.
