Wonderful woods and paths in the Puez-Odle Nature Park, an intermediate route amidst the splendid alpine pastures at the foot of the imposing Peitlerkofel and the constant offer of panoramas among the most characteristic (and perhaps lesser known) mountains of the Dolomites, make this tour one that will not be easily forgotten.
Leave the St. Magdalena car park at the turn-off for Ranui (1325 m) and at the turn-off for the church of St. Johann, which lies on the edge of the forest below the magnificent Geisler group, turn right and follow the wide, asphalted road that runs just below it and after just under 6 kilometres of easy climbing you reach the information point and the parking spaces of the Zanser Alm. Here the route enters the Puez-Odle Nature Park and follows the beautiful forest road no. 33 (signs for the Schlütte), which leads up a steep slope (10%) in the upper part of the Villnößtal and at times offers very impressive views of the Geisler group opposite and the Aferer Geisler from the forest. You ignore a few forks and always stay on the main gravel road. After 4 kilometres of easy ascent, also due to the excellent conditions of the ground, you enter the wide grassy basin that forms the end of the valley between the Zendleser Kofel and the last northern ridges of the Geisler group.
