Magnificent mountain bike tour from Bolzano onto the Salto plateau and down to Vilpian.

Starting in Bolzano, take the Jenesienerstraße up and through two tunnels. Turn right straight afterwards and follow path 5 uphill (very steep). The path opens out onto Glaningerstraße, which takes you to Unterglaning. Continue on path 5, following the Kerscherweg up to Oberglaning. From here, follow the signs to the Locher hotel. After the hotel, take the sharp right turn and head up to the Salto. When you reach the Saltner Hof, turn left onto the gravel path marked no. 7 and take it down to the Tschaufenhaus. This is where the tremendous mountain bike descent begins (no. 7). The start has a few technical sections, then the terrain becomes more flowing (path no. 4) to Möltner Straße. Follow the road downhill briefly, then turn right and take the wonderful trails (no. 1B) with lots of little hairpins down to Vilpian. Head through Terland, Siebeneich and St. Moritzing back to the starting point in Bolzano. You can see a short video of this tour here:
