Itinerary description: by car or by bus we arrive at Rifugio Zannes/Zannser Alm, located at the border of the natural park (parking; 1670 mt.; refreshment available). Now we walk on the road that goes to the nearby Sass Rigais Hotel and then we take a forest road passing along some fields and a wood near to the Rifugio Genova/Schlütterhütte, directed towards the inside of the valley and till the Rifugio Genova/Schlütterhütte road. Covering this road we go up till the wood’s border and later we reach the fields and the Malga Gampen Hut (2062 mt.; 1 hour; refreshment available). Now we can go up or right along a wide road, or left on a narrow path, to reach Rifugio Genova/Schlütterhütte (2031 mt.; managed), located at 2 hours far from Rifugio Zannes/Zannser Alm. Eventually we can spend the night here. From this hut we continue eastwards on footpath number 4 till the nearby Passo di Poma/Kreuzkofeljoch (2340 mt.) and then on our left across some grassy slopes till the Forcella de Putia/Peitlerscharte (2357 mt.; 45 minutes). Now we go up across many hairpin bends till the mountain’s top. It can be reached by a partially gravelled footpath, which goes up to the Sass da Putia/Pleiterkofel through the slopes and has been improved and secured by some ironways (2875 mt.; about 2 hours far from Rifugio Genova/Schlütterhütte). With fair weather there is a great view. To go back we follow the same path (about 3 hours).
