Mountain idyll The Alpe di Fanes, in the Pices Fanes Valley and surrounded by high peaks, is one of the most attractive mountain ranges in the Dolomites with the splendid Lake Lé Vërt (Green Lake) in the background among pastures, alpine pines, "baranci" and rhododendrons
From San Vigilio di Marebbe - l Plan de Maréo (road from San Lorenzo di Sebato in Pusteria, junction to Longega) drive along the long and solitary Val dai Tàmersc’ towards Pederü (1,545 m, car park and refuge). We will continue on route 7 passing the small Piciodél Lake to reach the peaks of Pices Fanes (2,060 m, at least two hours; also by jeep. Rifugio Ütia Lavarela and Rifugio Ütia de Fanes). Heading left and then south on a small road, which takes you to the Ju de Limo Pass (and from there to Cortina). We will walk along the lake shore and then take the zigzag route which runs up across meadows and scree leading to the eastern rocky ridge. We continue northwards to the western ridge to reach the summit (2,793 m, 2 hours from Fanes). Return via the same route (3 hours).
