In six daily stages, this high-alpine circular hike leads along the mountain ridges of the eastern Zillertal Alps and the western Venediger Group through the border area of the provinces of Tyrol, Salzburg and South Tyrol. On this (still) relatively unknown loop, mountain hikers also get to know several interesting protected areas.

Turn-by-turn directions

Some stages are relatively manageable, so that along the way there is enough time for observation, to linger and marvel, or simply to let your soul dangle after arrival at the hut. In addition, there are still some beautiful peaks along the way, which are well suited for a side trip.

Like most high mountain tours, the Dreiländertour is also demanding, it requires experience, good endurance, surefootedness and appropriate equipment. But let go of the daily hustle and bustle and fully concentrate on the elementary things, this scenic, multi-faceted mountain tour will be an unforgettable experience.

The huts are open from mid-June to the end of September, depending on the conditions. But even in high summer, snowfall or the onset of cold weather can turn a supposedly easy mountain tour into a challenge. Everyone who wants to tackle the tour should inform themselves in advance and of course on the way with the hut hosts exactly about the weather situation.
