Mountain hut and easy to reach summit on the north side of Val di Vizze (Pfitschertal) Valley

From Vipiteno (Sterzing), drive through Val di Vizze (Pfitschtal) Valley onto the unpaved road up to the Passo di Vizze (Pfitscher Joch). Continue up to the road for 4 km and stop at the fourth bend in the road (1,806 m; large parking lot; the public street ends here). From there, follow signs for the Landshuter Europa Hütte mountain hut. After a short hike up, go left at the fork in the path onto Trail No. 4A, which ascends steeply. Continue hiking through the forest up to the abandoned Malga Griep (Griepalm) alpine pasture and further on to the Alta Via di Landshut (Landshuter Höhenweg) high trail. Follow Trail No. 3, initially crossing slopes and finally, ascending up switchbacks to the Rifugio Europa (Landshuter Europahütte) mountain hut (2,693m; open only in summer; about 3 hours from the starting point).
