San Martino di Castrozza - Rifugio Tognola

In front of the Rifugio Tognola we find the playground "L’Alpe delle marmotte", we cross it and shortly afterwards we reach, in the upper part of the winter track, the beginning of the path "The marmot trail". We take this easy path that leads us to a natural area: the environment is part of the Paneveggio Pale di San Martino Natural Park. We will see the arrival of the "Conca" winter chairlift, with the big red flywheel. From here we follow the signs for the Forcella Scanaiol. We cross the Scanaiol ridges and go down to the saddle. Here we turn right, continuing the wild path that takes us back to Alpe Tognola, crossing the "Scandola" winter track. Shortly after we will find the forest road that goes up to the Rifugio Tognola, where we can take the cable car back down to San Martino di Castrozza.
