Mountain hike „Hochstein 2469m“

From the head of the valley in St. Magdalena/Gsieser Tal (1460m, possibility to stop for refreshments, paid parking) follow the signpost no. 48 over the bridge of the Pidig Bach. There you branch off to the left and after the Schlosserhof to the right. You follow the path division, there you turn right and then follow the marking no. 48 through the forest up to the Tscharnietalm (1976m, not a refreshment point). Proceed on path no. 48 again in south-eastward direction to another fork. Turn right south-eastwardly and over rocky terrain climb up the steep mountain trail no. 48 to a flat basin of the west ridge of the Kerlspitze (2500m); continue over the ridge and to your right to another basin (2438m) and soon reach the mountain Hochstein at 2469m. Descent: the path no. 48 leads to Gerichtshals (2239m) through Verselltal valley further to hut Tolder Hütte (1942m, refreshment possibility) and hut Hinterschuher Alm-Randlhütte (1862m, refreshment possibility) and finally to S.Martino. To get to the starting point you can either use the bus or take the path Talblickweg (ca. 30 min).
