From the Krimmler Tauernhaus you hike to the end of the Krimmler Achental. On this way you pass some very nice pastures. Shortly after the Innerkees Alm at the end of the valley, the trail to the Warnsdorfer mountain hut is located on the left side. After approx. 1,5 hours you will reach the hut. From here hikers have the opportunity to climb the Gamsspitzl, which provides a wonderful view to the sourrounding peaks on the Hohe Tauern. If you want something a little more comfortable you can reach about 15 minutes above the hut the fascinating ice lake - an impressive glacier lake.

The beautiful Eissee is located about a 15-minute walk from the hut.
From atop the Gamsspitzl (elev. 2888m), about 1 ½ hours away, you are treated to rewarding views of the Venediger Group and its glacier world.
A center with integrated climbing and bouldering walls for courses and training sessions is also available.
You have the option of taking the National Park Taxi (reservations required) out as far as the goods lift for the Warnsdorfer Hütte.
