A pyramid-shaped summit in Ulten valley Long but rewarding route to the top
From the bottom of the valley, below St Gertraud (1385 m) strictly follow marking 108 and signs for Kirchberg; the wide Güterweg and part of the paved pathway lead you through Kirchberg valley to Kirchbergalm (1893 m, refreshments, 2 hrs. from starting point), now turn left and follow track 13 mainly through woodland up to a more even section, then via some clear slopes to Seefeldalm (2242 m, a herdsmen's hut, no refreshments); at the fork turn right (still on track 13) over grassy terrain up to a gorge at the start of the northern ridge (2647 m) which you cross to reach the summit in a further 20 minutes (2752 m, 2:30 hrs. from Kirchbergalm, 4:30 hrs. from staring point). – For the shortest and safest descent follow the same route (3 hrs.).
