A high-alpine touch
The Gleckspitze in the Weissbrunn valley is almost 3000 m high and is a reasonable climb for experienced and resilient walkers.

From the Weissbrunn reservoir (1900 m, inn; car parks) first head southwest on track 140 up to a fork where you turn left and follow track 103 through woodland and up a slope to Obere Weissbrunnalm (around 2210 m), then on to footpath 107 which mostly leads moderately uphill through pastureland and past the Weissbrunn natural lakes in southwesterly direction to the remote part of the Almtal, then steeply zigzags up to Schwärzer Joch (2822 m) and left on to track 145 which takes you smoothly across the ridge and up to the summit cross (2952 m, 3:30 hrs. from the staring point; the short way across to the southern summit, 2957 m, should pose no problems). – For the descent from the Gleckspitze, best follow the route as described (2:30 hrs.); if you don't have a vehicle parked at Weissbrunn reservoir you may choose to take the marked paths to Haselgruber Hütte and through Kirchberg valley to St Gertraud (around 3:30 hrs.).
