Heart of the nature reserve
This central Dolomite peak is situated right within the Puez-Geisler nature reserve. The round trip through the Langental to the Puez plateau is one of the most beautiful walks in Val Gardena. The summit offers a panoramic view.

From Wolkenstein, drive on to Langental. At the car park, join track No. 4 leading past the small Sylvester church and through the green valley plain flanked by majestic rocks. The path then leads left up the mountain flank, then rises gently further to reach Puezalpe. A flat section then leads to the Puezhütte. Just before reaching the hut, the track meanders to the left and zigzags up the grassy slope. The hike continues across rubble slopes to a saddle separating the two Puez peaks from the Puezkofel (2725 m). Now turn left, westward – at first gently, then more steeply uphill – across the wide summit slope to the Eastern Puezspitze. Follow the same track back to the hut, then descend on track No. 14 to Langental. A walk through the valley takes you back to the car park.
