Hiking area
The rock faces of Arzalpenkopf and Sextner Rotwand impressively dominate this hiking area.

Directly at the pass, to the right of the mountain meadows, the ascent begins with marker 15 and leads to the vicinity of the mountain station. Schistose high forest and mountain pine fields accompany you into the Wei&szligbach stream and the cirque landscape at the foot of the Sextner Rotwand. At about 2050 m, the 15B trail branches off to the left. Follow it up several hairpin bends to the Burgstall summit at 2168 m, where you can already enjoy a panoramic view of the magnificent Rotwand meadows.   Descent: To the west of the summit, the descent takes place via a steep scree gully. Shortly before reaching the Rotwandwiesen meadows, you will again come across marker 15. The return route from the Rotwandwiesen meadows is on trail no. 18 and leads back to the starting point at the Kreuzbergpass. <p
