Start
Turn-by-turn directions
The hike starts at the Capanna Alpina and follows trail nr. 11, on the flat to begin with, then climbing up to Col de Locia.
Next, it crosses vast areas of alpine pines before reaching the Gran Plan, or Plan de Ciaulunch, a large green plateau. A short climb from the plateau's edge leads to the Tadega pass. Now keep left as you enter the valley, which is at the altitude, using and easily recognisable trail, then climb upwards, and after crossing a steep crag, you can walk by the side of Lêch de Conturines. Passing between rocky steps, you finally reach the edge. Take a close look at the entrancing town of San Cassiano.
After the pass, zig zag across a steep gravel-covered slope and then go right over a manageable ledge. To climb to the top of the Conturines, follow a well marked track which, from the pass of the ridge above Büsc da Stlü, leads off to the left. Once you have passed a scree-covered incline, you can climb up to the rocky slopes.
Steel cables will help you reach the manageable edge of the summit.
