On well-maintained paths, the mountain tour leads us to the panoramic peak of Monte Faierone. We start our tour in the beautiful village of Sant'Agata above Lake Maggiore. From there we walk along small roads through typical Italian villages. The view always sweeps over the sparkling waters of Lake Maggiore. Soon we reach the ancient tombs of San Bartolomeo in Montibus. Now we climb uphill on a beautiful path through the forest to the alpine settlement of L'Agher. Above the settlement we quickly reach the tree line and enjoy the view of the surrounding valleys and Lake Maggiore. Over the ridge we reach the summit of Monte Faierone. From there, the view extends over Lake Maggiore to the peaks of the Valais mountains. After a leisurely break, we start the descent. We reach the small village of Scierz via a scenic path and from there we follow the well-surfaced trails back to Sant'Agata.
