Turn-by-turn directions
The starting point of the hike is the Leiter Alm. From there, take the Hochgangweg 24, now called Meran mountain road, to the Hochgang refuge hut (1.5 h).
From the refuge hut, take path 7 in the direction of Partschins (approx. 1,000 metres difference in altitude) and walk to Oberhaus - Niederhaus.
Cross the Töllgraben to your left and walk to the Saxner mill. From there, path 7 leads you down to Plars - Algund.

Getting there
Via the Adige Valley, take the MeBo expressway to the Algund exit and follow to Vellau.
Coming from Vinschgau, Algund is just before Merano.
