The malga (or upland farm where cheese is made) has not existed for some time and can only the ruins remain, because of a large avalanche it would seem. The white ruins stand in the centre of a very special natural structure, a green, completely flat karst hollow, dominated by monte Geu, the Creta Forata and the western outliers of monte Cimon. It is closed on all sides except to the north where sprout the distant, towering rocky ramparts of Peralba and Chiadènis.

This secluded site is worth visiting for the feeling of peace and solitude that you feel and also because you can get closer to corners that are still almost untouched. The trip is easy, sunny and not tiring. Up here the silence is a constant, occasionally broken by the whistles of marmots who are masters of the area. After reaching the destination, for those who still have some “puff”, a trip to the beautiful Geu Alto pass (see itinerary n. 20) is a must.
