Distance 6 km
Exploration Next to the beautiful landscape with the farms of Sexten you can admire the old millstones, a mysterious chapel in the woods, the bizarre formations of the Dolomites around Sexten and some prehistoric minerals.
From the village of Sexten (1316 m; the path starts slightly to the south of the church; many signs) you will continuously follow the path 4D and at first this path brings you past some houses and eventually you will walk next to the river Waldbachl uphill until you reach the farm Hössler. Along the access road of this farm you continue uphill until you reach the Ladstätterhof farm (1449 m). Here you continue through the forest to reach a wide meadow where you will find a millstone-workbench that is no longer in use and you will come to the chapel in the forest (1530 m). The path continues to the north until you reach path n. 4 and along this path you will come to a junction where you keep right (south) to continue along the almost flat forest road to reach the farm Obermaurer (restaurant Waldruhe, approx. 1570 m, from Sexten 1.5h). Descent: From Obermaurer you turn right and follow the path “Schalenstein” along an old path until you reach the mentioned “Schalenstein”. Over a meadow
