Turn-by-turn directions
From the Rifugio Caltena (1265 m), you follow the paved road, marked with number 729, in the direction marked “Rifugio Forestale, Passo del Palughet”. You then move down towards the panoramic meadows of Caltene locality (1240 m), and, following the same route marked 729, you then move into Val Giasinozza.
You continue along the road, which runs level along the right hand side of the Noana river valley.
You reach a place called “Baite di Giasinozza” and, sticking to the trail marked 729, the Forest Mountain Hut and the nearby “Riparo Cogolate”, a shelter that is always open, and a hiking destination.
To return, you follow the same route backwards.

Getting there
You reach the town of Transaqua in Val di Primiero following road SS50. Once you reach the town, you follow the directions for “Rifugio Caltena”. You climb along a steep paved road that reaches the mountain hut.Parking
